The Nation reports that Oladele, who spoke in Abuja on February 11, during Sam Epelle NIPR lecture, said Buhari’s anti-graft campaign is surely on course.

According to him, the anti-corruption campaign became pertinent in order to resuscitate the image of the country as well as promote accountability.
“It will interest you to know that NIPR started this change before President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
“We launched an ethical revolution. We saw it that we cannot continue this way and the revolution started from within. That is when we started re-certification to ensure that no quack practice this profession.
“So Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign is on course. There are other approaches such as preventive and creative measures,” Oladele said.
The NIPR president further explained that the annual memorial lecture was organised to honour the pioneer of the institution, President, Dr. Sam Epelle as well as to influence the country positively.
Oladele said the lecture titled, “Effective Communication as a Tool to Drive Nigeria’s Reputation” became significant to the country’s uninterrupted change.
He counseled media and public relations practitioners to work in collaboration in order to rebuild the image and reputation of Nigeria.
Oladele advised that the country’s economy should be diversified to agriculture in order to focus peoples’ attention on farming all through the year.

Contrary to NIPR’s president opinion on the continuous change the country is experiencing, former governor of Jigawa state, Dr Sule Lamido, believes that the APC-led government under President Buhari will not be any different from what has been obtainable because the president is operating in a corrupt circle.
Lamido posited that with the number of past PDP members in the current administration, it would be a difficult process getting the job done and bringing about the much needed change as promised during the APC campaigns.
